Jennifer Barnes van Elk

After receiving a Masters in Professional Communications from Royal Roads University, Jennifer worked for a few years in “corporate Canada” before turning her attention to social profit. Over the past decade, Jennifer’s grant writing skills have brought millions of dollars to local businesses, non-profits, and charities.

Jennifer has lived on Vancouver Island in the Cowichan Valley since 2003. Home is a small hobby farm where she spends most of her free time tending a modest vegetable garden, riding her horse, or adventuring with her husband and dog.

Mark Devoe

Mark is a lifelong resident of the Cowichan Valley with a Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Victoria and a background in carpentry and the music industry. He lives with his partner and their dog in Mill Bay where he spends his free time cycling, traveling, and dreaming about the perfect spreadsheet. Mark joined the Inkwell team in 2019.
